This is my favorite craft from my book, “Eight Lights for Eight Nights” (sadly out of print 🙁  ) I got the idea form early childhood educator Sherri Feld, and it is really simple, clever and useful. And the supplies are easy to get. (Home Depot has the paint stirrers for free). And your kid can do this themselves–they just need you to glue on the clothespin when they are done.  You can use elmers, but if you don’t want to have to sit there and hold it ’til it dries, I recommend a glue gun.

Happy Crafting!

  1. Ann,
Thanks for posting this nifty, useful idea for Hanukkah. My son is 3, edging close to 4, and last year, we let him basically ‘light’ candles by putting his hand on one of ours as we lit a candle. This would give him the chance to really do the lighting.
