Hi, there.

So here is a new coloring page. I created this for Dover Publishers as part of a book on outer space stuff…

It’s created this one in my papercut style instead of just line work.

I like the papercut look–it forces me into fun stylizations that I wouldn’t necessarily do when I am just drawing without any though of keeping the paper from falling apart.

Isn’t it weird how imposing rules onto  yourself as an artist, …in this case limiting myself to cutting shapes out that I have to make sure all connect up in some way so they don’t fall apart …can sometimes lead you to a more interesting image than total freedom…

  1. Hi Ann!

I just bumped into your blog through the Dust of Everyday Life site, and wanted to say I love your papercuttings! (And your kids’ book illustrations too!) Good to meet you!

    Kim 🙂
