If you’re looking for a speaker who is entertaining and educational, you want children’s author/illustrator Ann D. Koffsky!

Ann tailors her discussions to all ages and grade levels. Using examples from her more than fifty published books as a starting point, she describes the process of making a book from the first word, to the initial sketches, to the final published book. Her program is lively and interactive. It includes a sketching demonstration, a grab bag of props and lots of other fun surprises!

Take a look at these three presentations by Ann:

To college students at Yeshiva University
To the first graders at the Carbonara Public School in Valley Stream
To the first graders of the Hebrew Academy of Nassau County

“Ann came to my Kindergarten classroom to share her book writing and creative process with my students.  Ann was at once masterful in her explanations and relatable in her approach with the children.  The children were amused and engaged.  After Ann’s presentation it was clear by the plethora of questions from the children that they felt comfortable and inspired by Ann.  Ann encouraged each child to tap into his /her creativity and emphasized that there is no one way to be creative.”

Rebecca Nenner, Kindergarten Teacher
Hebrew Academy of Nassau County

“The students had a great time and learned so much from the experience. Afterwards, we  had a great conversation in class about representation in children’s literature, and they greatly appreciated hearing an author’s perspective on these same questions.”

Professor Carrie Shanafelt, Yeshiva College, Yeshiva University

“Thank you so much for your informative, entertaining, and memorable visit!   Our students were so excited.   There is a great deal you presented from which I can follow up in my library classes.”

Etta Presser-Anton, Librarian
Yeshiva of Central Queens

“It was an absolute delight to host Ann Koffsky at TAG this past Spring! Her presentation was educational, entertaining and engaging. I received highly positive feedback from staff, and students alike. It was our pleasure to have Ann spend time with us, and we hope to have her again soon. I highly recommend!”

Temima Feldman, General Studies Principal
Torah Academy for Girls

“Ann infused humor and a child friendly energy into her multi-media presentation. She didn’t simply give a presentation, she interacted and engaged with the children in an effortless way which showed she knew what she was doing and was having a great time doing it.”

Stephanie Entin, Librarian
AJ Heschel School

“Ann Koffsky enchanted the students of my school by piquing their interests in the process of taking a simple idea, designing illustrations and producing a story. Her style and creativity threaded this presentation and delighted all present. I highly recommend Mrs. Koffsky!”
