I get my “kid fix” via the children at my K-8 school and their pre-Pesach excitement. I love reading the classic and the new books to them (especially Ann Koffsky’s). Since our seder is now all adults, all of whom come armed with commentary, we provide post-it stickers to put in the Haggadah at the appropriate places and we share the divrei Haggadah during the meal. If we don’t get to them this year, “next year in Jerusalem”!
I like everything on pessach – Cleaning the house with my daughter is fun 🙂
Cooking und geting everything ready for the Seder.
The very best is my little daughter singing the four questions.
We live in a small town in Germany and there are no other jews, so the days of jewish holydays are familydays, everyone get involved, we stick together, saving fun and power for the trubbeling “normal days”.
the book looks like something i would love to share with my grandchildren
To relive the Exodus experience – by finding ways it is relevant to our daily lives!
I love to do the plagues. The kids make their own props before the holidays and we use them during the seder.
Since our kids are still quite young, from soon to be one to soon to be 8 and a half, my husband found a trick two years ago to keep the kids not just awake – oh, that they are all year long! but following the seder and participating a little, by making them sing Dayenu at regular intervals. It´s not in the seder, not in the text of the haggadah – besides that one time, obviously, but its fun, kind of a wake up call, and it works! Dayenu!
